At GROSouth, we can trace our beginnings back to 1945 when James S. Morgan founded Montgomery Seed and Supply Company in downtown Montgomery, Alabama, as a retail seed dealer.
Montgomery Seed and Supply Company grew over the years into a wholesale distribution center of lawn and garden supplies, which became known as GROSouth of Alabama.
In 1989 Georgia Golf and Grower, located in Atlanta, was added to the company and operated as GROSouth of Georgia. In 1995 Dothan Seed and Supply was added to the company as SEEDSouth.
In 2003 the three companies merged together under one name, GROSouth, Inc. Today we operate three distribution centers servicing eight states. We are a wholesale distributor of lawn, garden, horticultural and agricultural products. Our customers include garden centers, farm supply stores, retail nurseries and hardware stores, as well as commercial greenhouses, nurseries and farmers. We also sell government, commercial and institutional accounts engaged in turf and grounds maintenance.
What once was a retail seed and supply store has grown over the years into the Southeast's leading distributor of seed, lawn, garden and grower supplies.
